thanks for all your patience as I slogged through creating the form to create a character. A few things are wonky and eventually I will have it auto-total CP and MP. For now, I'm not seeing any issues using Internet Explorer, but I am having a script error in Firefox. Still working on this, but for now, let's get those characters created!!!! Hi Everybody!

The math has been finalized and we have decided on the following chart for character conversion CP. These point totals will count for converting one current UC character to play at the first event.

The first number is your current total spent CP. The second number is the CP amount you’ll have for KBA.

Upto 100 = 150 CP
101 - 200 = 155 CP
201 - 300 = 160 CP
301 - 400 = 165 CP
401 - 500 = 170 CP
501 - 600 = 175 CP
601 - 700 = 180 CP
701 - 800 = 185 CP
801 - 900 = 190 CP
901 - 1000 = 195 CP
1001 or more = 200 CP

We are awarding some MP as well. Anyone that has played UC in the past will get 1 MP. If you’ve played 20 events or more, you’ll get 2 MP. If the character you’re converting has 500 to 999 CP, you will get 1 MP. If it has 1000 or more CP, you will get 2 MP.

New players that make a character will get a total of 100 CP to build their character. That is 50 for the character and 50 for the history.

The chart below is how you earn CP for your characters…

Attend an Event = 10 CP
Pre-register for the Event = 5 CP
Event Summary Survey = 5 CP
Camp Breakdown & Cleanup = 5 CP
Total = 25 CP per event
PLUS 5 CP per new Player recruited (an unlimited number!)

Please remember, each player gets one rewrite ever. The new campaign does not grant a full rewrite. So, if you have two UC characters, and wish to roll a new KBA character as opposed to converting, you will have to retire one of your characters. The retirement rules are not changing. You will get 40% of the retiring character’s spent CP total. You can apply unspent CP to any of your character(s) or transfer them to another player prior to using the chart.

I’m excited to announce, and we are happy to bring you, a new point system for KBA!

In addition to earning CP (character points) for the same things you always have, we are adding an additional point system - Mastery Points!

Mastery Points (MP) will be earned for attending and playing an event. Each event you play will earn you 1 MP. Playing four events in a row gets you a fifth MP for free! These points are important, because they are what allow you access to the most coveted skills of the game.

The MP system will require you to plan out your character with focus on the future. MP will be both pre-requisite for some skills and must be spent to purchase those skills. All skills that have MP as a pre-req will cost 1 MP to purchase in addition to its CP cost. Total MP, both spent and unspent, will count towards the prerequisites, but a spent MP is spent forever.

Hi Everybody!

Let’s take a few moments to discuss character histories for new characters. We have a unique situation here. There will be changes in the world while your character is sleeping. We want these changes to be a surprise to you, a bit of a mystery if you will. How can we accomplish this if we release a bunch of world info so you can write a history? We can’t actually so the world information will be released after the first event.

All new characters, for this first event, will have until the end of 2016 to submit their history. If you’re a new player, or you’re rolling a new character, you will receive the history points up front for your build. Also, our 55 questions are being reviewed, and there will be a slightly different set to answer about your Player Character History. Failure to submit a history by the deadline will result in a CP freeze until you’ve earned the equivalent amount of history points.

Please do not take this as a shutdown to your character development. It’s a great idea to think about and plan your character’s history. From our own character creation we know everyone has their own methods and for some, the history is the driving force. We just want you to be prepared. Some modifications may be needed to the history. This could range from nothing at all to significant change. You will have until the end of 2016 to make any necessary modifications and still get the CP for it.

How will your characters enter the game world at the first event of KBA?

If you were at our final event of UC, you know your character is sleeping in a hidden location.

What about people that weren't able to attend and want to convert their character? Well, IG the Barron will have found those people and brought them to you. So, they will have undergone the same process and will awaken as you do. So, everyone converting their character will start in the cave.

If you decide to roll a new character for KBA (and all new players), you will start out in the world. The details and locations of these starting points will be given to you, either at check-in or the opening meeting.

Hi Everybody!

First, I’d like to say I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday season. Secondly, I’d like to thank you for your patience while we finalize the new campaign. When the holidays were upon us, time constraints made the process a bit more difficult, but rest assured we are still working hard to bring you a quality game.

Soon, I’ll be posting some information on how the conversion process will happen. The difficulty we’re encountering is in our numbers. We want to insure we have all our math on point before we release the official documents. So, these announcements will contain confirmed concepts and procedures, but will not contain the actual point conversions.

We’re aiming for a release of the entire information package for the first event to happen in January. We’re working on a get together to go over all the rules and help you with conversions. We’re excited for the The Awakening, and we hope you are too.

For these posts, and in future posts, I will refer to The Underworld Campaign as “UC” and refer to The Awakening as “KBA”.
