First i was wondering if you could post a description of how letters work i couldn't find anything on the boards or in the rule book.Â
Second i was told you needed to have a name or address for the letter but I was curious if it was posible to send a letter with an instruction like "bring this to a nearby town and give it to the town leader/librarian/blacksmith etc."

There is an online form that explains it well, but it is only viewable after an event.

In-Game Couriers Guild Terms and Conditions:
“The Couriers Guild guarantees the delivery of this letter, unless the person is missing, dead, or held prisoner. Responses are not guaranteed, as the receiver may choose not reply. Responses are not guaranteed to be accurate or factual. This is also up to the receiver.â€
On the online form, it asks for the NPC's real name and the In-Game Character's Name.
The In-Game costs are as follows:
on Continent - 1 silver coin
in Underdark - 2 silver coins
off Continent - 3 silver coins
