I wouldn't ask a farmer for weapon schematics.

Government is made by the will of the people if the mages do not follow that then they are by nature rebellious and not helpful to the town and it's goals. I would hope one would not be against the town and it's well being.

I'm a people.
I didn't have a say in this "will of the people"
This is the will of the council

However we have mages represented by the council and they are at the forefront of this decision making. The council has made certain magic forbidden because the mages guild has proposed that they do so. It's like if a group of blacksmiths tell a government that certain weapons are too hard to make due to their destructive nature. The government would then prohibit the use and making of said weapons because those smiths suggested it. Understand?

If they cant make a certain weapon then they're definitely not blacksmiths. That's just laziness and unwillingness to learn and those people shouldn't be the forefront of their craft. So no. I still don't understand

Law is law I suppose. I agree with the said statements.
By the way, hope everyone is doing well. It's been a while.

I hate to say it, I mean really hate to say it, but I would hope the acting mayor and council would have the town's best interests at heart. Unless we are going to throw caution to the wind, we need to support each other like a town is supposed to and respectfully follow what the acting mayor and council has decided. Until such time where we either elect a new mayor or disband or remake the council, this is what we have and what decisions they have made. I think we should give the new decisions a try and see how they work. If they don't they can always be changed. But we can't know if it is the wrong decision unless we give it a try and see how it goes.

How do you know that unless you try it out. Maybe things will be safer. Like I said, if it doesn't work, we can always change it. But you have to try it first.

Sans and Xiomora, your requests and preferences will be brought up to the council, I will return to you personally with their decision.

Darkwood, the decision on this matter was made with the town's best interest in mind. Regardless of particular religious beliefs, we must all make sacrifices to see us through. As someone who has worked so hard behind the scenes to bring order to the town, I'm sure you understand.

Ransom, forbidden magics are named so because the greater populations of the world have called them as such. They have their roots in dark gods and evil practices. They have not been outlawed because an individual could have good intentions, while still practicing these darker magics, like Rhonda, or Durst. They have been restricted because they can become a source of great destruction and cause us a great and mighty deal of grief. So while many already in town have proved to some extent that they can be trusted, this law focuses more on newcomers in town. And to explain why it is a full council decision and not just the mages guild, it is because we all share space here, we all have a say. The mages guild carries a significant amount of weight in the decision, but all voices should be heard. Considering you love having your voice heard by people, you should understand this.

And I appreciate those who have spoken out in support of this, and those who have criticized, I will bring it up to the council appropriately.
If you are still unhappy with the decisions being made, and the path the town is taking, I would recommend telling your complaints to the council, or even perhaps joining the council. And begin considering where your votes are going on our last gathering of the cold season.
