Well I must admit I am rather surprised by your response Porthos. I do not think I insulted you in any way. It is just that you have the ability to protect a pouch and the way you did mine a few moons ago was so flawless that I just cannot believe it comes from a magical item. Although if it is in fact a magical item perhaps you can let Magnus and the mages guild take a look at it. They may be able to discern its creation and replicate the effects on other spells of the gods. Furthermore when did becoming a Clandesta priest become a bad thing? I was under the impression that it was in the gray pantheon still? I mean sure lies secrets and its like can surely slow progress, but as Ballo had once told me the true Clandesta priests will keep a lie until it is ripe to reveal. He saved my ass a few times because he knew of things that I did not. I would even go as far as to say that I trusted him because of what he was doing for the Gray lady. I looked at you in much the same light and now I wonder was I wrong to do so?
Well on to the matter at hand then. No I am not magistrate as I believe I also put in the original posting, nor was I ever a council member. This was due to the council believing it wise to not even let the magistrate argue a law given to him at one point. I had to convince them that I should be able to have any input at all into the laws that I was to enforce. This is a bit strange to me because I did not like the feeling of enforcing laws that I did not feel were right when I was a marshal under Darkmoon, but I am getting side tracked. Surely you realize how insurmountably corrupt you sound when you say you wish to buy a seat on the council? As the council was acting they were the government and held the power of decisions in the town. Now they never gave me a job description when I had asked them for one but I can assure you they thought themselves rather powerful as heads of their guilds and did what I can only hope was their best to represent those guilds and the entirety of the town. With you buying your way onto the council it begs the question of who do you represent? You would represent your own interests and push your own agenda, which is the exact thing that the council was made to stop right?
I also believe their is a misunderstanding about the term "shady". The only thing the council did was decide on things. They deliberated on a great deal of things and came to conclusions over and over again. However they would not communicate to the town what they had decided. This hiding of information is rather Clandestine in nature, and when something was finally told to the town, such as the appointment of the Magistrate, the town would erupt into complete and utter chaos. To the point where most of the council members had to spend the ensuing week calming everyone down. This is certainly favoring Tempesta and was no doubt Darkmoon's design.
I am also unsure of what you mean by how I know all of these things. I know all of these things because the council decided to allow me to sit in during their meetings. I was not allowed a vote and in fact was told on an occasion to be silent by Darkmoon. The only time I was permitted to speak was when a matter of law came up. I would voice my opinion and could perhaps refute the law if I had good reasoning and as explained before I had to jump through quite a few hoops to secure that right. The funny thing about the laws was they were never actually given to the town once they were decided upon but I believe I have already touched on that.
Now as far as my small stent as magistrate, and my previous service as marshal for that fact, is concerned I have failed on both accounts. Of this I know and is the soul reason for my post. I wish to apologize the town with the only thing I can provide them at the current moment, information. During the gathering I will fight off whatever decides to attack us as I always have. Those are my contributions to the town. As for your own you are correct in saying that I do not realize how much you help the town. As I see it right now you Felix and perhaps Scout hold a large percentage of the gold within the town. I for one have never come to you asking for money but instead received a gold when I escorted you to your house to which I attempted to give it back because it seemed far too generous. Now you claim to funnel it back to the town, but I do not really see that happening either. Sure I see you gamble for very large sums but it seems to be with the same people. Now I am not a gambling man but I am pretty sure their is an equal chance that you make money when you gamble as their is for losing it. Unless you're providing all of the players the coin in the first place which to be quite honest would be idiotic and irrational. The only thing I see you do is drink and gamble. Not that I think any less of you and I am sure you do a great many things but visibly you just live here.
I have assisted members of the town with their fighting abilities and died defending the town from a whole variety of things from banshees to trolls. This coming event I will be able to teach someone a rather potent ability. I train long and hard to perfect what I can do so that people like you can just simply live in town and play at being a mighty and rich noble.
Lastly, I am pretty sure that slander isn't a crime and if it is then Darkmoon, Ransom, Darkwood, Kora, and perhaps the entire town should be accused of it. Also how was it you planned on enforcing that law if I was the magistrate? Furthermore how do you plan on enforcing that now that their isn't even a functioning government let alone a magistrate? Would you like to challenge me to a trial by combat? Personally I would be completely against the idea.
But what do I know! I'm just an idiot right?
