Local Letter
This has been written to help keep town residents up to date on current events. If you have any information that would be helpful to this letter please bring it to me, Arbellason priest of Urgo, you may call me Arthur.
The Return of Baronia...
500 years ago before the ravaging there was a thriving kingdom called Baronia. Citizens of this kingdom lived in a town called Stormhammer, current day Rowans Crossing. These citizens fought against the Ravager and sealed him away in his realm but he fought back and so began the Ravaging. To save themselves these Citizens had a ritual performed to put them is a state of stasis for five years. This did not work as planned and instead they slept for 500 years. Some of these Citizens live among us in this town. When they awoke the King of Baronias sister, Drusilla, was with them and she left to find the baronian kingdom but they soon found out Baronia was gone and the King was missing. Out of duty the citizens sought out the king but he was dead and only his spirit remained, so they put him to rest. With the loss of the king it seemed Baronia was no more so the citizens moved
On joining the town of Rowans crossings and now Wayfair. But last gathering a group came to town claiming to be Baronia. While the citizens of Stormhammer moved on Drusillas reappearance in the world spark the fire in many to rebuild the kingdom of Baronia. It is small now and it will be a long time before the kingdom can become what it once was but it is undeniably back. To hear more you can speak to the old members of Stormhammer, Colin Darkwood, Feliks, Darkmoon, Loki, Scout, Sato, Mog, Raz, Lan, Porthos, Renuka, and Kora.
A Looming War...
Tension is building between the two cities of IronHelm and Twilight's End. War is a very good possibility. The tension is caused by IronHelm raising the taxes on the river that is used by the merchants of Twilight's End. IronHelm was being protected by mercenaries from Silmaco but there was a delegation from Silmaco meeting with the Thane in Ironhelm. Word is that they stormed out and took all their mercenaries with them, leaving the city essentially undefended. With Twilight's End being against the taxes of IronHelm and IronHelm being undefended there is a possibility of War. The aforementioned group of Baronians that came to town last gathering came to ask for our help in assisting IronHelm. They claim that if Twilight's End wins this war, which is likely without someone aiding IronHelm, They will grow to a City state. They also claim that this would not be a good thing because City states tend to grow out of hand and consume all around it which would include us. It has not yet been decided what side, if any, Wayfare will stand on.
Be on Your Guard...
The threat of the metal Mask Man is closing in we will have to fight him, there is a plan to destroy him but one i will not talk about so publicly where might see. Speak to Feliks if you wish to know the Details.
We Shall Not Back Down...
War continues between Sir Edmund and our town please speak with our Champion Darkmoon if you wish to know our battle plans for when he attacks. Be on guard and be ready for anything he may not be consistent in the army that he leads to our town so we must prepare for the worst. Aster has made her declaration on our boards, we will fight and we will win.
The Wayfare Fair…
Come one, come all to the Wayfare Fair! Spring of 1519, Saturday morning at 11 The town of Wayfare is proud to host its first annual Merchants Fair!Merchants from all around are invited to our town. Bring your wares along and space to set up a stand will be provided to you.
To top it all off Wayfare will have some beautiful objects for sale, items of Artisanal quality! If you'd like to know what these items are then feel free to come down and see for yourselves!But I'll give you a hint, one piece of work comes straight from the famed jeweler himself, Porthos.
A beautiful one of a kind ring, rightly named 'My Lovers Eyes' is part of a yet to be released collection. Don't let the opportunity slip by to see or even own this precious piece! If that's not enough of an incentive to come join us then at least come down and pay the Lazy Fox Tavern a visit, food and drinks will be discounted. There will also be contests and games that day with some fun prizes for the victors. Tutors will also be available that day with some special lessons for those interested. Prices have yet to be posted but can be haggled. Entrance fee will be a mere 1 gold for all non-merchants who want to come join in and have some fun. Merchants need only send a letter to the town of Wayfare's head of the Fair with their interest in securing a space to sell their wares. Letters should be sent to Loki at the town of Wayfare. Let us all celebrate Aureus with this generous circulation of gold, goods and wares! The town of Wayfare reserves its right not to allow those who follow a dark god within the town limits.
