Holy Symbols

So i was trying to get fancier with my holy symbol, rather than just painted wood, and was hoping to get something a little more sturdy (to show devotion to the light of course, praise Halcyon!) Would a necklace with a 2" diameter pendant made of silver work if i added the symbol of the deity? Silver is like the white of metals right?
