Knight Blades REFORGED is coming soon!  Over the past 14 or so years we’ve learned some things about our game and our amazing players.
 
The game is exciting and a way to escape the doldrums of real-life responsibility. With our rule system firmly tested we believe we provide a safe and respectful environment. Our Staff and players invest a lot of time and energy into the creation of the characters we play. With so much dedication it is not uncommon for us to experience real emotion while immersed in such a rich fantasy world. Emotions our characters feel must be acted out and reacted to with as much authenticity as possible. As we play/act/live these character’s “lives”, some people have experienced difficulty determining acting from reality.
 
Emotion aside, we strive to bring as much realism as can be created in a complete fantasy world.  To create such a world, we must incorporate themes and motivations commonly found in the real world. Life and Death are huge motivators in this game. Surviving the world is always an adventure. Some fantasy themes require a certain maturity level to navigate the emotion and experiences felt by someone acting out their character.
 
With all these considerations and more, Knight Blades Reforged requires all new players to be 18 years old at a minimum. Anyone that has previously played our game will be “grandfathered” and allowed to continue playing, so long as they have the proper release forms.
 
We will continue to allow 16 and 17 year olds to NPC our game with the following conditions. They must be checked-in to the event by their parent/legal guardian each time they NPC. The parent/guardian must show their ID and will have a short conversation with a Staff member. During that conversation it will be explained how we operate, how their child is expected to conduct themselves, and how it is impossible for us to provide a direct supervisory role to their child for every moment they are at an event. Once that is done, they will sign the waivers associated with a minor.

We extend an open invitation to join the Knight Blades Reforged Support Team. Our intentions are to offer those of you that wish to NPC on a more permanent basis, more input into the entertainment of our players. It will allow those people more access to plot and to play more challenging monsters than our volunteer NPC's.

Joining the KBR Support Team brings certain special benefits. You will have the opportunity to submit plot lines and modules, and to create recurring characters with expanded starting CP. It will allow you to help shape and mold the challenges to the players as they define the direction of the campaign.

Support Team members have access to our secret Forum on the KBR Message Board. This is utilized in order to dispense pertinent background on currently running plots and what has happened in the past regarding those plots.

Support Team members, as well as all NPC's, do not pay to attend events. Additionally, Knight Blades Support team members always earn the maximum possible number of CP per event (currently, this is 20 CP).

Being a Support Team member is not to be taken lightly, however. We expect a commitment of you and expect you to have a full understanding of the rules and game mechanics. The Staff will assist you in any way to help teach you the combat system and rules.

We anticipate full cooperation and open communication. The hidden forum is used regularly to communicate. We expect it to be checked regularly and emails to be responded to in a reasonable amount of time.

If you wish to become a Support team member, you must have played (or NPC'd) for four complete events.

If you are unable to discuss it with us in person, we ask that you post your request in your personal forum.  After Staff review and consideration, you’ll be notified of our decision.

Once you have been accepted, you must remain a Support Team member for at least four complete events. After that time, we will expect you to decide if you wish to remain a member. If you remain, you will again be held to that commitment for another four complete events, and so on.

If you choose to return to being a Player, you will not be allowed to return to the Support Team for at least four complete events. If after that time you wish to rejoin, you can resubmit your request.

We hope you give this some serious thought if you wish to bring a new dimension to your KBR experience. Keep in mind, it is the responsibility of the Staff and Support Team to entertain the players and make Knight Blades Reforged the most exciting and rewarding LARP we can provide.

Some of you may have noticed the Cash for Chess tab under donations on the main webpage.  If you haven’t, I’ve included a link to it at the bottom of this post.
 
We believe a large chess board and Umbral are an integral part of KB.  We’ve decided to purchase a set and board so that we can continue the tradition at Knight Blades Reforged.  This is a hefty expense and as such have decided to ask for donations to help defray the cost.
 
The In-Game benefits of donating to the cause will include, but may not be limited to, as follows:
 
Sponsor a Piece: When you donate to sponsor a piece, you will receive a FULL REFRESH once per event at the time you choose.  This will be available to you at every event you play.  The game mechanic on how this works will be provided to you at Check-In.
 
Support the Game of Kings:  When you donate to support the game, you will receive a LIMITED REFRESH once per event at the time you choose.  This will be available to you at every event you play.  The game mechanic on how this works will be provided to you at Check-In.
 
If you donate to both Sponsor a Piece and Support the Game of Kings, these two refreshes will stack.  However, no player can have more than one full restore and one limited restore, no matter how many times they've donated.  If you sponsor more than one piece, you will get an entry on the plaque for each of them.
 
As for other In-Game benefits for donations, you will have to Find Out In Game.

Our Yearly Package options are now available on our website for purchase.

Please consider purchasing a Yearly Package for the 2022 season.  We believe it is the best value for you, and it benefits us as well.  You receive your CP early with other exciting In Game items/skills.  We are better able to plan for attendance and secure the fees to rent the facility early.

The packages will be available for purchase until our first event.

If you purchased a package for 2020, and did not request a refund, we will honor your purchases for the 2022 season.  Those that did purchase a 2020YP will be receiving an email in the next couple of days with your options explained.  There will be instructions for refund, upgrade, or staying at the same YP Tier level.
